About this policy
Album Shield, formerly Lockora File Vault, is developed and provided by Robert E Bowers Jr under the Bstone Solutions brand. It is designed to keep photos and videos in an encrypted vault on your device.
Information collected
The application has no developer account system, advertising, analytics service or developer-operated remote media server. Your vault photos, videos and encryption key are not sent to Bstone Solutions. If you email support, you provide the information included in your message so that we can respond. Do not include private vault media or access credentials.
Information stored on your device
Vault photos, videos, thumbnails, filenames, folders, tags, edits and imported location metadata are encrypted in the application’s private storage. Appearance, language, auto-lock, notification, free-tier and purchase-status settings are stored locally. The vault encryption key is kept in the device Keychain and is not sent to the developer.
Permissions and Apple services
Features you choose may use Apple services, including StoreKit for purchases, Photos and Files for import or export, local notifications for lock warnings and Maps for saved photo locations. Importing from Apple Photos can request broader Photos access so Album Shield can offer to delete the original photo or video from Apple Photos once a copy is safely encrypted in your vault — this only happens if you confirm it, every time, through Apple's own permission prompt. The optional Private Camera uses the camera and, for video audio, the microphone. You control permissions in device settings. Apple handles its services under its own privacy policies.
Temporary and exported copies
Playback and export may require temporary decrypted files protected by iOS file protection. Exported media leaves the encrypted vault and is controlled by the destination you select. Copies in Photos or Files may be synced or backed up according to your settings for those services.
Deleted media and your choices
Deleted photos and videos remain encrypted in the locked Hidden section for up to 15 days. You may restore them or permanently remove them sooner. Permanently deleted or expired items cannot be recovered. Deleting the app removes its local vault. Previously exported copies must be managed separately at their destinations.
Backup and recovery
Album Shield does not provide cloud backup or automatic device-to-device restoration. Export and back up important media before deleting the app, replacing your device or erasing it. The developer does not hold your vault key or a master recovery key and cannot recover your private media.
Children’s privacy
The application is not directed specifically to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the application.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated when application behavior changes. The update date will be revised when a changed policy is published.
